Why the “N” word?

posted by Lindsay Love

I dont understand why black people persist using the n word? Why? Why would you use a deragatory term that the white caucasion race gave you a long time ago? When we or you call eachother the n word, all you’re really saying is you accept the deragatory name and you like it. Therefore you’ll use it. You’re living up to it, rather than rejecting it.

Nationalities arent Personalites!

posted by Lindsay Love

Please dont get confused relating nationalites and races with personalities! Black doesnt mean ghetto or “hood.” White doesnt mean bimbo, rich kid or emo. Asian does mean smart.
Etc. These are steryotypes people. Ones race doesnt say everything about somebody. Especially their personality. Dont be quick to judge. If you cant judge a book by its cover, then you definitley cant judge a person by its color!

Individualism

posted by softballerin29

Most would say, “Be the Fruit Loop in a bowl of Cheerios.” Honestly though, many would be pissed off if a Fruit Loop was anywhere near their delightful Cheerios. Still, if the customer pays for for Cheerios, is it too much to ask for plain old Cheerios? What, pray, is next? Will people begin to mix peanut butter with jelly? We’re always being told that everyone and everything is equal, but individualism is the manic “rat-race” to outdo your neighbor.

If we would all learn everything one way without complaint, then maybe we could all be as one. Has one ever considered that individualism could actually be the downfall to unity? If everyone was entitled to total freedom and if everyone was encouraged to be the “Fruit Loop in a bowl of Cheerios,” then the common bounds that hold us together will be lost. If we were all different and savvy in the way that society applauds, then we will drift apart like ice bergs. The result of too much individualism is only slightly short of chaos. Our planet is on the brink of disaster and much of the blame goes to nonconformists. We have a polluted planet, excessive weaponry, and an increasing number of free thinkers, troublemakers, and even anarchists. As all common citizens complain about the current lack of creativity, conformists fight against them.

What do you mean there’s no creativity? Equality and balance become less and less as people attempt to be different than everyone else. Whenever you try to think differently than the rest of the planet, you’re not finding yourself, you’re losing others. Eventually, as we all grow apart and begin to think separate ways, like a relationship, it’s not going to work. One day, we’ll all be too different from each other to relate. Perhaps this will cause even more dispute than the push for individualism.

We speak of trying to ride a road of balance, but how can we be balanced if nonconformists want to drive a three wheeled car? The brutal truth is that different is daring. But if everyone was different, then the meaning of “different” would be obsolete. Instead of making a name for yourself, make a name for your people as part of a united planet.
